Who we are

Valuepeg (“we”) runs valuepeg.com and the Valuepeg app at app.valuepeg.com, an investment research service now in private beta. This policy covers both, and our emails.

What we collect

• When you request early access: your email, and your name and how you research stocks if you give them. We also record your IP address and browser to stop spam.
• When you use the app: your name, email and sign-in details (passwords are stored only as a one-way hash); your workspace and what you add to it, such as watchlists, screens, notes and questions to Peg, our research assistant; which features you use and when; and your IP address, browser and sign-in times, for security.
• When you visit valuepeg.com or use the app: the pages you view, the site that sent you and any campaign tags in the link, your kind of device (computer, phone or tablet) and your country, worked out from your connection (never your precise location). These are kept under a random ID in our analytics cookie, not your name; when you sign up, we connect that ID to your account so we know how you found us.
• If you pay for a plan: your billing details go to our payment processor, Stripe. We see your plan, invoices and the last four digits of your card, never the full card number.

How we use it

• To send your invitation, run your account and the research tools, and answer your questions.
• To send emails about your account, security, billing and trial, and occasional tips while you’re new, which you can stop with the link in each one.
• To keep Valuepeg secure, prevent abuse, and understand which features are used so we can improve them. We use our own first-party analytics for this, kept in our own database, not third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
• To try different versions of a page or an offer, such as a headline or the length of a trial, with different visitors, so we can learn which works better.

We do not sell your personal information, share it for targeted advertising, or show ads.

Peg and AI

When you ask Peg a question, the question, your conversation and the research data needed to answer it are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to produce the answer. Anthropic does not use this to train its models under its commercial terms. Your conversations are kept in your workspace so you can come back to them.

Who we share it with

Only with the companies that help us run Valuepeg, for that purpose alone: Amazon Web Services (hosting, in the United States), Cloudflare (network and security), Resend (email), Anthropic (AI answers) and Stripe (payments). We also share information if the law requires it, to protect people’s safety, or with a buyer if Valuepeg is sold, who must keep this policy’s promises.

Cookies

We use only the cookies Valuepeg needs: one to keep you signed in, short-lived ones for sign-in and security, and one analytics cookie of our own, which holds a random ID for about a year so we can count visits and see how people find Valuepeg. Stripe’s checkout and Cloudflare may set their own security cookies. We use no advertising cookies and no one else’s analytics cookies.

Our own analytics

Valuepeg’s analytics are first-party: we built them, they run on our own servers, and what they record stays in our own database. We don’t sell or share it, and there are no third-party trackers or scripts on our pages.

We honour Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track. If your browser sends either signal, we don’t set the analytics cookie (and remove it if it’s there), we count your visit only as an anonymous page view that isn’t connected to you or your account, and we leave you out of any test of different versions: you see the usual one.

How long we keep it

Early-access requests are kept until we’ve invited you or you ask us to delete them. Account information and what you add are kept while your account is open. Billing records are kept as long as tax law requires. Analytics records of page views are deleted after 13 months. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymise your information, except what the law requires us to keep.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, give you a copy, correct it or delete it, by emailing [email protected] from the address you use with us. We’ll answer within 30 days, and we won’t treat you differently for asking. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law, and we will honour them.

Security

We protect information with encryption in transit, separation between workspaces, limited access, and two-factor sign-in for our own staff. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.

Children

Valuepeg is for adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if you think we have, tell us and we’ll delete it.
